NHDOT Project Viewer

Road projects often spend years in planning and design before construction begins.  This page and the Project Viewer App developed by NHDOT will help you discover if there is a project already underway on a road that is of interest to you.

Our sincere thanks to the NHDOT Bureau of Planning and Community Assistance GIS Management Team for developing the Project Viewer App.

The instructions below tell you how to use the Project Viewer.  Click Here to open the Project Viewer.

Step 1. In the Project Search Window that appears on the Project Viewer take the following actions:
Check the box next to In Construction.
Check the box next to In Design
Check the box next to In Planning
Next, with the Region Type set to Towns, Select a town from the list.
Leave the space to enter a Project Number or Keyword blank.
Click on Search.

Projects in Planning show in Red.

Projects in Design show in Blue.

Projects under Construction show in Orange.

You may need to use the Pan and Zoom tools to see clearly the street that interests you.  Those tools are just to the left of the Project Search Window.

Most projects will show in the view, but more involved projects may have several contracts.  To see more project details its necessary to display the Attribute Table.  At the very  bottom edge of the Project Viewer Window, right in the center of the yellow border line there is a small black arrow in a gray box.  Click it!

The Attribute Table will only list projects visible on the screen.  When it opened, if it covered up the project that interests you, pan the map so its visible again.  Then any project related to the street of interest should appear in the Attribute Table.

Remember to look in all the tabs on the Attribute Table.  In the example shown the project to repair the General Sullivan Bridge didn’t show up in the Project Search window on the left, but it was listed under the In Planning tab of the attribute table.  That project is 11238S.

At this point you have discovered if there is a project in some phase of development on the street that’s of interest to you.  Jot the number down and close the Project Viewer Window and this window to return to the main BWANH Infrastructure page.
