Recommendations for Active Transportation in NH

In 2014, the Safe Routes To School National Partnership researched and published a thorough report on the state of active transportation advocacy in New Hampshire.  Here is the introduction to the longer report that you can download by clicking on the link below.

“Interest in active transportation is on the rise even as federal funds dedicated to bicycle and pedestrian transportation have declined in recent years.  Because of this the bicycle and pedestrian movement is at a turning point….

“If New Hampshire can successfully increase biking and walking rates, there are enormous potential benefits:  a healthier population with fewer injuries and deaths from collisions; less pollution; less traffic; more transportation options for all, especially low income individuals; and an improved sense of community.”
