Summary:
"GET OUTside!" on Saturday, May 21, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Over 100 people attended this event with the threat of rain all day. Information about the GSBA and GSW was distributed but there were no workshops conducted nor a ride due to low interest of those attending the event. Lauren Dunn of the Amoskeag Fishways will continue to promote bicycling, display GSBA and GSW literature, and will keep us in mind for future events which may focus primarily on cycling and have participants pre-register. A few photos taken at this May 21 event follow.
Amoskeag
Fishways presents:
"GET OUTside!" on Saturday, May 21, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
And what better way to get outdoors than on a bike?
The GSBA will be offering a workshop on proper bicycling techniques for children and adults at the Amoskeag Fishways, Manchester, at 11 AM. A short bike ride heading north along the Merrimack River on Route 3A will then be hosted by the GSW. Due to traffic conditions and the starting location, the bike ride will be for adults (18 and over) only and helmets are required.
There's an outdoor
sport for everyone in the Merrimack Valley! Test your skills on the Vertical
Dreams rock climbing wall, show off your paddling maneuvers in the Merrimack
River, learn casting techniques and fly tying with NH Fish & Game, and talk
to other outdoor enthusiasts from throughout the state. Experts, beginners,
and everyone in between will enjoy the hands on activities, demos and workshops.
There may be a small fee for some activities. $2 per person/$5 per family.
Granite State Wheelmen Recreational Ride, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
There will be a FREE bicycle ride beginning and ending at the Fishways.
This will include a safety workshop by the Granite State Bicycling Alliance.
No pre-registration. Helmets and bikes required! Ages 18 and older.
