"Safe Kids 500" on Monday, May 4, 2009, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Loudon, NH
The fifth annual "Safe Kids 500" will be held on Monday, May 4, 2009. In 2008 we had good weather so about 500 people participated. Both the kids and the parents had a great time cycling on the track after their bikes passed a safety check. Helmets are required, likewise helmets are available at the event and a helmet fitting service is provided by the Safe Kids Coalition and BWA-NH. For more information about this famous speedway, click here. And for the fifth year, again S&W Sports of Concord will be checking and repairing bikes including inflating hundreds of bike tires. While owner Tim Farmer deserves an award, the least we can do is to display the logo of his shop:
.
Here are the plans for the 2009 event:
Help us celebrate SAFE KIDS Week 2009 by participating in the "Safe Kids 500" at this famous race track.
The New Hampshire
SAFE KIDS Coalition and the New Hampshire Motor Speedway invite you to a one-of-a-kind
bike ride around the track in Loudon. Imagine
you will get to pedal your
bike on the same track that NASCAR drivers race around! All children must be
accompanied by an adult caregiver and all participants (kids and adults) must
wear a bike helmet. Bike safety checks and minor servicing will be performed
by S&W Sports of Concord. Bike helmets, educational materials, and healthy
snacks will be made available by Safe Kids of NH, Children's Hospital at Dartmouth
(CHaD), and the Bike-Walk Alliance of NH.
There is no cost for this event although donations to CHaD will be gratefully accepted. For more information and to let us know you are coming contact NH SAFE KIDS at 1-603-653-8360 or e-mail IPC@dartmouth.edu. Registration starts at 5:00 PM, rides and exhibits available 5:30 to 8:00 PM.
