BWA-NH Calendar for Bicyclists and Pedestrians

Background

Over a period of years, the founders of the BWA-NH have learned that interested bicyclists and pedestrians often do not know what is being planned for their own town or nearby communities. If projects are started and some critical factors are overlooked because local residents did not contribute during the planning stages, then the community may be faced with problems requiring much additional expense, time, and possible safety issues. By being informed of local meetings, hearings, and events then making your thoughts known, town and state officials can address design considerations before construction starts. This is the best way for all parties to come out ahead. However, if the scheduled meetings and events are not known then inputs from concerned parties are not heard.

Purpose

The purpose of the BWA-NH calendar is to identify and post all meetings, hearings, and events which may be of interested to the many bicyclists and pedestrians in New Hampshire. By checking just one place, our web site, everything we hear about or locate via other web sites will be found in chronological sequence. The source file for our calendar can be downloaded and printed if desired, likewise any key words can be found in it using the simple word processing command of "Control-F".

A second purpose of our calendar is to share information. Many times a public meeting or event is held concerning bicyclists or pedestrians where the information provided could be of personal benefit. If the general publicity for that event was overlooked or not available to the interested parties, then the opportunity to learn something new or to become involved with local activities is lost. Again, we hope to make our web site your "one-stop shop" for all bike-ped education and advocacy topics in New Hampshire. We welcome inputs and will attempt to post new information within 48 hours. This calendar service does not apply to fund-raisers, recreational bike rides, local walks for fun, or to solicit money in any way.
