Walk NH Week 2008: June 1 to 7-- join in some healthy fun!

Walk NH Week is an exciting statewide event, in addition to the on-going Walk NH program, designed to encourage people to participate in an organized community walk -- and inspire them to continue walking as part of a healthy lifestyle long after the event ends.

Governor John Lynch will proclaim June 1-7, 2008 Walk New Hampshire Week. Walks will take place at various times across the state during those seven days, some simultaneously.

How your community or organization can participate:

• Select a 1 to 3 mile route to walk in your area. Ideas for places to walk include: parks, school grounds, main street area or town village, a home or workplace neighborhood, nature trail, etc.
• Choose the day and time (including a rain date) for your walk. Complete a registration form for your walk and send it to Walk NH by April 25, 2008.

How Walk NH will help with your event:

• We provide tools on our website (www.WalkNH.org) to help you plan, promote and implement your walk.
• We promote your walk through our website.
• We provide t-shirts for event organizers and promotional items (e.g. hats, stickers, water bottles) for walk participants.

How individuals can participate in (or help with) a walk:

See the schedule of walks posted on the Walk NH website and choose the one you want to do. Contact information and details for each walk are listed. If there isn’t one in your area, check that page again later. Walks will be added as organizations register them.
