Manchester MOVES, Inc.

Introduction:

Manchester MOVES, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to reconnecting and converting a network of abandoned rail trails into trails that will encourage bicycling, walking and other alternative (active) forms of transportation thereby reducing automobile use and its attendant environmental and social harms. Manchester MOVES intends to inspire and organize individuals, agencies and organizations to contribute time and resources to this urban trail network that will connect our neighborhoods and surrounding communities and improve the health, safety, vitality and quality of life for people of all ages and abilities.

Our primary goal is to complete the trails within Manchester, as well as connect those trails to the surrounding communities including Bedford, Goffstown, Hooksett and Londonderry. Manchester Moves, Inc. seeks to be the central point of communication between the City of Manchester and the surrounding suburbs in all things related to walkways. The existing trail systems are substantial, but many portions remain disconnected.

Project updates:

Dean Williams, Bob Dastin, and Greg Bakos took part in the presentation to the city which drew a standing ovation from the audience. Congratulations to all involved in this fundraising effort!
